It all started with an open mic contest, and a big push from my wife.  I ended up actually winning, and it led to a guest spot on a show starring D.L. Hughley of the Kings of Comedy! This got me a few opening spots on a few other show with legends like Lavell Crawford and Eddie Griffin.  I thought to myself, 'I may be able to do this'.  But family and health issues caused me to take a 2 year hiatus. Now I'm 7 years back in it and I've been doing open mics all over Michigan and shows at places like Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle in Royal Oak, where I was a finalist in their "Detroit to LA' contest, as well as a host and feature for multiple shows, One Night Stan's Comedy Club in Waterford, Laughfest, and I was the winner of the 2022 'Funniest in Grand Rapids' contest.
